Eat Local B-N 2020

As a local small business owner and someone with a long history in foodservice, the statewide shutdown of dine-in restaurants/bars hits home.  This is unprecedented and quite scary for a lot of individuals who depend on the income from these establishments.

So, how can we as a community help in situations like this? 

• If the business is OPEN and you are feeling WELL: Order from them for curbside or delivery.  Remember to tip the staff!
• If the business is OPEN and you are NOT feeling well: Order delivery only if there is an option for door dropoff where there is no contact, have a friend/neighbor pick up food for you and drop on your porch or keep them in mind for when you are feeling better (recommended 14 days)
• If the business is CLOSED: Support them by ordering an online gift card (if available) for future use or to give to a medical worker/someone you would like to support during this time.  Also, keep them in mind as one of your first visits when they reopen in April.  They will really need your support.

In order to easily determine what local restaurants are doing during this time, I have put together a Google Sheet that details all known information regarding these businesses.  Note that the list ONLY contains information that has been verified by the business.  All known Facebook pages and websites have also been listed, so look around their site and connect with them!

Now more than ever, it is important to support our local businesses.  Please do so, but keep the following in mind:

These restrictions have been made for a reason.  So IF YOU ARE FEELING SICK, PLEASE STAY HOME.  Even if you feel well, please be mindful of social distancing.  The last thing we want is additional time that businesses, schools, etc. are to remain closed and/or putting the staff that IS working at risk.
